バイク用ETC
28日に自宅のポストからはみ出るくらいの大きな郵便物が届いていると思ったら、モニター用のバイクETCカード一式だった。カードは小さいが、梱包がでかい。
ブツは上記の画像のとおり、ICチップ入りのカードと、透明のカードホルダー、ホルダーをつけるリール付クリップ、で１セット。青いプラスチックのリールは、ひっぱるとワイヤー（というかヒモ）がのびて、離すと縮むヤツ。よくベルトに留めるキーホルダーみたいな感じで、キーのかわりにカードホルダーがつくと思えばよい。
マニュアルによれば、クリップを胸につけて、料金所のゲートでカードを「びよーーん」と伸ばしてセンサーにタッチするらしいが、クリップも超頑丈という感じでもなし、風圧でモゲたらイヤなので、俺はタンクバックにつけてみた。こんな感じ。
わかりにくいかな。タンクバックのポケットにクリップをつけて、走行中はカードをポケットにしまっておく、というところ。
さて、このカードがつかえるのは、関東では中央道のみ。それも三鷹本線～大月～河口湖の区間だけ。さて、どこに行こうかな…
ビーナスラインに行くためには、大月でいったん降りて入りなおさなきゃいけない。相模湖で降りて道志道で帰ってくるか、でもそれじゃ途中までしか使えなくてもったいない（貧乏性だ）。えーい、結局河口湖までいくか。朝霧高原で牛乳飲んで帰ってこよう。
というわけで、一路調布ICへ向かうことにした。稲城大橋を使うのが一番楽なのだが、稲城ICには読み取り機が設置されてないのだ（涙）。しかしR20もそれほど混んでなく、小一時間ほどで調布ICに到着。
さてバイク用ETC実験の読み取り機は、実験区間内ICの一般ゲートのうち、だいたい左端のゲートに置いてある。ただし一部右端だったりするので、高速に乗る前に確認しておかないと泣きを見る。
というわけで、調布ICの一般ゲート左端へ進入。料金所のオジサンが声をかけてくるのをオモムロに制して、「じゃじゃーーん」とばかりにカードを取り出す。読み取り機は、オジサンのいる窓のすぐ横、目立つ場所に設置されていた。カードを見るとオジサンも「あー、はい、どうぞ」と合点がいった様子。
本当はここで読み取り機の写真を取りたかったのだが、後ろに車が並んでいたし、オジサンもいるし、ちょっと遠慮してみた…。けっ、チキンとでも何とでも言いやがれ。まぁ、見たい人はICに自分で行ってくれ（やる気なし）
というわけで、カードを読み取り機にタッチさせる。読み取り完了までの時間は１秒くらいか？ 正常に完了すると、緑色のLEDが点灯する。だいぶ大きくて明るいLEDだ。たしかに、見にくかったら雨の日とか困るもんな。
読み終わったらカードをしまって、すぐ発進。グローブを脱ぎ填めする必要もなし、チケットを折り曲げる心配もなし、ハイカやクレジットカードを落とさないか心配する必要もない。こりゃ楽チンだ。
八王子料金所も、一時停止して、カードをタッチ。ここで通常受け取るチケットは、カードを読み取ると吸い込まれていった。ふーん、連動してるのか。やはり間違えてチケットを取ってしまうと、管理上困ることもあるだろうな。実験といっても、思ったよりちゃんと作ってあるなぁ、という印象。
河口湖出口も、一時停止して、タッチ＆ゴー。
なんかモニターの説明を最初に読んだときは、「非接触ICカードとかいいながら、タッチが必要とはナニゴトだ！ クルマと同じように無停止でいきたいぞぅ！」とか思ってみたが、実際使ってみると、これでも現状よりはだいぶ便利。
唯一の不満は、読み取り機が一般レーンにあるので、車の列の後ろに並んで待つこと。クルマ用ETCなら専用レーンで、ひとっとびなのに。全ICで、既存のレーンのハシッコに、バイクETC専用レーンが出来ないかなぁ。
どうせ来年、高速道路二人乗り解禁やるんでしょ。それにあわせて、どーよ＞どこかの偉い人
きっとバイクの通行量増えるぜー。こんなに道路へのインパクト少なくて、渋滞の原因にもならんのに、軽自動車と同じ料金はらってる、高速道路の有料通行人が増えるってことは、いいことじゃありませんか。
ま、そんなわけで、富士ミルクランドでダブルクリームのジェラートを食らい、帰りは富士山スカイライン経由で御殿場から東名道に乗って帰ってきたわけだが、御殿場ICではチケットもらったあと路肩にとまってポケットにしまい直し、東名川崎ICでは小銭をジャラジャラやって、面倒さを再確認したってところだ。
ちなみに実験期間は来年3月まで。果たして実用化はいつになることか。

でもソロでない時は、料金所を出て少し前で、チケットをバッグにしまいつつ、全員ゲートをパスしたことを確認して、次の休憩SAを大声で伝達しつつ、出走…てのも、たしかに風情があるのだが。
