Franziskaner Hefe Weissbier
Franziskaner の Hefe Weissbier は、渋谷の某店では「ヴァイスゴールド」で名の通っているビール。無濾過の香り豊かなヴァイスビール。グラスに注ぐときに、最後に少しだけ瓶にビールを残し、瓶をくるくると回して底に溜まった酵母を混ぜて、ビールも酵母も最後の一滴までグラスに注ぐのが王道。
白ビールというが、色は白濁した褐色。フルーティで飲み口も軽いけど、アルコール度数は5%ある。果実のような酸味と甘みがあり、酵母独特のものなのか、とろっとしたコクのある味わい。どこぞのビールではないが、泡まで旨い。
製造元は、ミュンヘンのフランシス会の教会横にあったことから「フランチスカーナー」と呼ばれ、14世紀からビールを醸してきた醸造所。20世紀初頭に SPATEN と経営統合している。
SPATEN は下面発酵ビール、つまりラガー製法を発明した伝統ある醸造所で、日本だとLöwenbräuのブランドが一番有名かも。
あまり置いてある店が多くないので、どうしても飲みたくなると渋谷の某店に通ってしまうのが玉に瑕(?)である。
